The Dream When All Pixels Are Sold! Tuesday March 21, 2006 Site Back Online I had to take the site down for a few weeks because I upgraded the script with the new release modules! And I have been busy developing websites for a few businesses. So we are back online and have seven businesses who are advertising! Yippee! We also have two Realtors who have come on board. I sent out about 100 advertising letters and received one response from that mailing. Otherwise, I have been talking to businesses face-to-face which seems to be a better method. This week, my focus will be on Realtors. They understand advertising better than many small businesses because they have to continually market themselves to find prospective buyers and sellers. The goal is to have 10 more businesses by April 1, 2006. Saturday February 18, 2006 PixelMissouri.com is launched! I decided to create this website to showcase all of the wonderful businesses and organizations in Missouri with a fun and creative way of selling pixels! What are pixels? Pixels are the size of this period "." and they are the atoms of a computer screen, image, or television. I was born and raised in Missouri and have lived in Springfield, Sedalia, Columbia, and Kansas City. The university that I attended is William Woods University in Fulton where I obtained a B.S. in Computer Information Management. I have never been able to find a job with my degree because I "don't have any real work experience." In December, 2005 on a Monday morning, I was driving my 35 minute commute to my call center job (they hired me because I have computer experience...lol) and was thinking about starting my own company. I figured that if I can call people and talk them into buying things for other businesses, I could do the same thing from my home phone and computer. So when I got to the parking lot, I swiftly turned around and drove 35 minutes back home, started making phone calls and never looked back! Missouri is the Show Me State and it is in the heart of America; we are the pulse of this nation. I strongly believe that Missouri has the most talented artists and entrepreneurs! Our state is not as big as Texas, but large enough that if you live in southwest Missouri, it is so different from living in Northeast Missouri. People have a different accent, they think differently, they have their own unique qualities. For example, I still have not found a Chinese restaurant who makes cashew chicken like they make it in Springfield. YUMMY! And I haven't found anyone who makes fudge like the Candy Factory in Columbia! In some places, a Pepsi is called "pop" but in other places it is called "soda." This site is the first site of its kind to attempt to link as many Missouri websites in one place in a fun and unique way besides the usual business directory or search engine. Did you know that most Missouri search engines are owned by people who do not even live in the state? By selling pixel advertisements, businesses and organizations can increase traffic to their website. Having a website is one thing, but people have to find your website and with millions of them out there, it's almost impossible unless you spend thousands of dollars in Internet, radio, television and print advertising. So I will do that for you! You pay only 1 cent per pixel and you will have advertisement for 5 years! I would like to have this site available for longer but I haven't thought that far yet. :) So what are you waiting for? Buy pixels or check out How It Works. So depending where you live in Missouri, you can say to me: "Thank yaw!" or "Thank Yuns!" or "Thank You!" or "Peace!" |
